We hadn’t built a new house before so we spent a few months consulting a number of builders and visiting their display homes. We loved the Bora Bora design and hoped we could incorporate our ideas into that style with Matt.
Matt’s genuine friendly manner and easy communication style were what encouraged us to go with Duce Constructions.

Duce Constructions built my new home in Earlville in 2019.
I had built other houses therefore I know how important it is to choose the right builder. After long conversations with Matt, I found him to be very knowledgeable in the building industry. Nothing was too much trouble. I could tell he was very dedicated to his work and proud of his craftsmanship.
Matt always kept me informed with how everything was going. He was accommodating and available with suggestions, ideas and guidance. Naomi was also helpful with decorating, styling, colours, and advice on internal and external appearance. They were both very professional and made themselves available during times that suited me. On completion of my home, there is ongoing contact to me to ensure I am happy with my home and any small adjustments.

We were in the market to build our first new home and were visiting lots of land sales offices and salespeople for local builders.
We ended up choosing Duce Constructions because they felt less like salespeople and more like builders. We had visited two of their display homes and really liked them. We had also heard many good stories from friends and people we spoke to about Duce Constructions. They have a great reputation in the Cairns community.
We worked with a plan they had, the Bora Bora, and we changed it to suit our unique style. There was some back and forth between us as we were discussing our ideas and factoring in their input. Nothing was a problem for them.
It seemed to us that the Duce approach is to build efficiently and to a high standard. We were pleasantly surprised by how fast progress was made throughout the build. It was great to drive by the land every few days and see that something new was happening. We had a family member who had built with another builder and everything moved really slowly. Our build took a quarter of the time. With Duce, it felt like a day was never wasted.
We found the experience of building our first home really enjoyable, and not at all stressful. We are super happy in our new home and we always recommend Duce Constructions to all of our friends and family. Looking forward to building a new home with the Duce team again one day.

From an initial meeting in Cairns over coffee on the last day of a failed fishing venture to the completed construction, we could not have been happier. What is most poignant is the entire design; fit-out and construction took place with Marlene and I living in Melbourne. With only three trips available for design, architectural concept discussions and fit-out selections, the trust and faith we placed in the entire Duce Construction team should not be underestimated. We felt extremely comfortable from the start of the process, some say that building a house is stressful; I would suggest you are with the wrong builder as we had no stress with Duce Constructions (Matt might have though!). What pleased us the most was the degree to which the Duce Team and Chris Dimarco Designs listened to our design concept ideas. During the design, construction and fit-out we challenged them to not be afraid to tell us if a part of our personal design ideas would not suit and to their credit, they did and offered alternative suggestions; further reinforcing our trust of their on the spot suggestions enhancing the final finish.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to Matt and Naomi, Chris Dimarco and the entire team for realising our dream and building us such a lovely home. If we are ever to build another home in the future based on my current experience there is a shortlist of one “Duce Constructions
